Sorry to those of you who have heard this...
We got workbooks for the girls last weekend at costco. We were working with Layla, it was a maze. She wasn't quite getting the idea. So I took a piece of paper, drew a box and in the box I put a simple one path maze. Then I drew a bee at the top, and a flower at the bottom. We talked about bees going to flowers to get pollen to make honey. I asked her if she could draw a line from the bee to the flower to help the bee. She looked up at me, and then looked at the paper. And then drew a line, from the bee to the flower, OUTSIDE the box. Yes, she actually gave me a look like, why did you draw all this? But it reminded me why we are unschooling. I don't want my kids to be told how to think. Mazes and doing them right are not he point I want my kids to get. I want them, haha, to think outside the box. Not to be told to color in the lines, or that hair and faces should only be one color. Natalie is great at multicolored everything. They are special and I don't care to have a cookie cutter child. I LIKE the way they think very much thank you:)
