Finished!!!

Sometimes called in the knitting world, whoring yourself out. I am finally done and the soakers are washed and currently being lanolized. I did the pink and the blue soaker for a friend in return for beer bottles for Jack.

My first attempt at knitting with two colors. The first is fair isle knitting. I am impressed with how easy it is. I am still not too impressed with my soakers. But will I ever be happy with anything I do? I am guessing not. The sun is intarsia knitting. I HATE this. I am not sure if I will ever do this again. I have done it in crochet, a skull, but that wasn't so hard, a pain, but not hard.
The other soakers are for a friend who will probably be having her baby any day now:) I am very happy to have added to both of their stashes. BUT I am also very happy to be able to start something for my family. It has been way long since I have gotten to do anything for anyone here. And I have kinda made a promise to finish Jacks sweater by his birthday. Hey, wish me luck. Gwen also needs more soakers and I found the cutest skirt that I want to make for all four of us girls, thanks Heather:)

You make me want to knit more things in fair isle. I really am planning on making another soaker for Gwen, I'm just trying to get the swing thing done for Addie first. I kind of missed knitting for my own kids.

KNIT FOR YOUR OWN KIDS!!!!
I feel like I have neglected them way too much. All knitting for the next 3 months, just for people related to me, hold me to that okay?

Wow, 3 months?!? Impressive! :) I will really try to help keep you to it. I really need to get the swing thing done for addie, figure out what I want to do for Cailyn (and order yarn if needed), and then knit the blasted sweater for Brett. I don't even have time to look at knitting for me. :laugh

What's on your list?

There I just made a list on here. I am sure there is more that I actually want to do, but that is a start. Sad, isn't it? If I can finish half of that in three months...

Cuteness! I don't knit, so I don't know how much work these were, but they *look* like hard work. And they are lovely.

So, I have to ask about the beer bottles...

Jack has been brewing. It is his hobbie so he can stop feeling like killing people at work:) So wonderful people have brought him bottles, not the screw kind, they have to be pop off. He actually told her that I would make her soakers! He really was trying to whore me out, lol! He has made some soda for us also. Root beer and his next project is ginger ale. I am looking forward to it. Though I have to say that I have tried many types of beer now and they aren't all totally bad:)

mmm...that root beer was goooooooood.

who am I kidding? that beer was good!

Wow!!! I am sooo impressed with your skill. And to think that I never even thought of teaching you knitting when you were younger. Not sure you would have been too interested. The soakers are wonderful. I really liked the sun pair - too bad you don't like doing intarsia knitting, they're cute. I want to get your Dad back into brewing again. He made some good beer.
