cute! you can knit an i-cord maybe???
You could even do a chain stitch with the same yarn or a different color. But, I have to say I love the ribbon - maybe you could braid three colors of thinner ribbon and it wouldn't untie as easily.
Ugg I-cord? Are you kidding me?? lol
I am going to have to do something though. Chaining sounds easier, but it just doesn' t look as nice.
